Slacker

Alright, I know I haven't posted anything in forever... I've been such a slacker. So we moved back to San Diego, David is still on the USS Ronald Reagan and will be transferring off inMarch of next year. I am so excited to finally have him home for more than a few months at a time. He is also happy to get away from all the chaos of a carrier. Joe is growing up way too fast. He has such a sweet personality and keeps me on my toes all day. He has somewhat picked up crawling. He mostly gets up on all fours then dives or he just does the good ole Army crawl. He keeps us busy and now we have to watch him contsantly or he gets into everything. He hasn't found the stairs yet but I'm sure he will soon enough. I think he is just like me right now, he is so stubborn and won't take no for an answer. He is 7 months now and he is just so much fun. We enjoy everyday that we have with him. This summer David will start work ups again (mini deployments for practice) and we are not looking forward to that. It seems like he just got home. He will be going out in June for a couple months so while he is gone I will go spend some time up in Oregon with family. It will help pass the time and it will give everyone a chance to see Joe. At the end of March we got a visit from Mom, Dad, Becki and her girls. They were here for a week and we had so much fun with them. They got to see why we love it down here so much. We took them all over the place and had a great time. The girls favorite was the beach, of course. Also this January my Grandma Pat passed away. She had cancer and it was time for her to go. It was really hard on everyone in my family. She is no longer in pain and is with my Grandpa now and I know they are so happy together. I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband and a beautiful son!!

Joseph David Hugehs

What a crazy couple of months we have had. On October 8th after a long 40 hours of labor we welcomed our beautiful son Joseph David, he is the light of our lives. he weighed & pounds and 2 ounces and was 23 inches long. Unfortunately David had to miss it, he was deployed and was due home on the 13th. We were very sad that he missed it. It is all part of being a Navy wife. At the end of October we moved back down to San Diego. We have been enjoying our time together as a family. Everyday is a new adventure with Joe. He has grown so much and is getting quite the little personality. It was so nice to be with my family during my pregnancy and there for the birth of Joe. I had my mom, my 2 sisters, my brother, David's mom and step mom there. I was so happy I got to share that with them all. We love being parents! It's the greatest blessing!!!

Crazy Monday

Funny story... I went to the doctor last Thursday. My doctor did an ultrasound, with a portable machine, she told me I was having a girl and it was an 80% chance. So I put on here and told everyone I knew that I was having a girl. Well, I go to the doctor yesterday for an actual ultrasound and she asks if I knew what I was having I said "yes, a girl". Oh boy was I wrong!! I It's a boy and he made it very obvious too!!! I was in shock all day. Of course David is ecstatic!!! So here are some pictures of our son, no name yet, and one of his boy parts.

A quick update

So, just to keep everyone updated... Here are some more pictures from David's deplpoyment. They had a "swim call" a while back. David was one of the very first to jump off the ship. He loved it!!! He got to jump off with the captain and admiral and a few other people. Also, I put a picture up of me at 26 weeks. The baby is growing very fast. I went to the doctor on Thursday, they did an ultrasound, with a portable machine so it wasn't 100% accurate, but we are having a baby girl!!! We are so excited!! Of course David wanted a boy. I thought it was going to be but I was wrong. We have an official gender ultrasound Monday so after that I will put up pictures of what she looks like.
